AIIM:
coordinate heterogeneous 5G cells.
A multi-vendor O-RAN interference demonstration that coordinates PRBs across neighboring cells and compares learning-based xApps with static allocation policies.
Make interference visible.
Move users between cells, vary traffic demand, and watch PPO and DQN trade aggregate throughput against QoS violations.
Technical significance
PPO and DQN outperform the reported traditional static and semi-static policies across user placements and traffic conditions.
Learning policies may show slightly lower aggregate throughput in some cases because they serve high-pathloss users more fairly while reducing quality-of-service violations.
The evaluation combines SDR-based and virtual gNBs and UEs with O-RAN software components, 15-second iPerf3 traffic, and 350 evaluation steps.
